The "hard work and dedication" of staff and pupils has been hailed by a headteacher after a primary school was praised by Ofsted inspectors.
Staff, pupils, parents and the governing body at a Lowestoft-area school are celebrating following a 'Good' Ofsted inspection which includes 'Outstanding' features.
Ofsted visited Somerleyton Primary for the first inspection since the school joined the Hartismere Family of Schools in 2019.
After the inspection was carried out on June 13/14, lead Ofsted inspector Rowena Simmons and inspector Jo Nutbeam found the school on The Green, Somerleyton to have a 'good quality of education’, 'good leadership and management', 'good early years provision', 'outstanding behaviour and attitudes' and 'outstanding personal development' as it's 'overall effectiveness' was rated as 'Good.'
With 60 pupils aged four to 11 on the school roll, inspectors said: "This was the first routine inspection the school received since the Covid-19 pandemic began."
Inspectors said: "Pupils happily embody the school values.
"Pupils value the opportunities to make a difference in their school and in the wider community."
The pupils were praised for showing "perseverance, integrity, creativity and kindness in their exemplary behaviour and attitudes to learning."
Ofsted praised the ability of teachers to "impressively intertwine pupils’ academic learning with a rich set of extra experiences."
Pupils' school work, talents and contribution to their community was marked as being of an "exceptionally high quality."
Oliver Clifford, headteacher, said: "I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and dedication shown by all staff and the governing body - they have made a positive impact on all the children's learning.
"I feel strongly that supportive parents contribute heavily to the continued success of the school which ultimately results in high achieving, happy children who understand the impact learning can make on themselves and their communities.
"Finally, I wish to thank our amazing children who are a pleasure and a privilege to work with."
