Many across Suffolk saw a sprinkling of snow in December 2023 but, with the coldest months of the year upon us, is it likely that we will see some more in the county?
January and February tend to be characterised by heavy rain and freezing temperatures, with a little bit of snow towards the end of the winter months.
Having missed the chance for a white Christmas with the warmest-ever Christmas Eve temperatures recorded in the county, many are wondering if there will be snow at all in 2024.
A spokeswoman at the Met Office said: "The long-range forecast shows high pressure is likely to become dominant across the UK and we are likely to see drier and calmer conditions developing for most of the UK by the weekend.

"Temperatures are likely to be cooler with some wintry hazards likely at times.
"Temperatures are likely to continue in a downward trend, becoming below average in many areas from mid-January, although the chance of widespread severe cold is still deemed low at this point."
However, long-range forecasts on AccuWeather suggest that Suffolk could have some snow on January 19 and again at the end of the month.
With temperatures currently above average in the county, colder weather is on the way and will hit Suffolk around the middle of the month with temperatures of about 2C and 3C.
