Aerial photograph shows extent of Homersfield flooding

Aerial photographer Mike Page captured a scene over Homersfield, near Bungay, of low-lying fields completely underwater and dangerously close to swallowing the village. 

It comes amid a series of flood warnings issued from Diss to Bungay by the Environment Agency which has warned people to "act now" or risk serious damage to homes, businesses and lives.

Aerial photos of flooding along the River Waveney (Image: Mike Page)Despite river levels remaining high, they are expected to drop over the next few days and reduce the level of threat.

But eight named storms since September have made it difficult for the region to recover. 

Most recently, Storm Henk brought heavy rainfall and gale-force winds to the region, creating the worst conditions for flooding since 2007. 

Fifteen flood warnings and alerts remain in place in Norfolk and Waveney today amid a cold weather alert from the Met Office and the UK Health Security Agency.
