Two 24-hour road closures in Norfolk are "highly likely" to cause delays this week.

Road and pavement resurfacing work is due to start on the A149 Burnt Street, Two Furlong Hill and B1105 Fakenham Road junction in Wells-next-the-Sea on Thursday.

Burnt Street and Fakenham Road will be fully closed while temporary three-way traffic lights will be in place around the B1105 junction from today until Wednesday.

A fully signed diversion route will be in place throughout the closure and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.

Work is also due to start on Sunday to resurface a section of Norwich Road in Brooke which will take a day to complete, weather permitting.

The area to be resurfaced includes the junctions with High Gardens and The Street, as well as Norwich Road from 50m north of the junction with The Street to 150m south of the junction with The Street.

A diversion route will redirect traffic around Kirstead, Seething, Shotesham and Woodton from 6am on Sunday to 6am on Monday.

These works are highly likely to cause long delays and tailbacks around rush hour, with the added risk of rat-running in nearby villages and roads.
