A community group who won a Stars of Lowestoft and Waveney Award have enjoyed their prize - an inside look at the Waveney Norse depot.
Beccles Bombles volunteer litter picking group won ‘Team of the Year’ at the awards, which are supported by The Journal.
They were invited, along with some honorary members from Beccles WI, for a visit and lunch around the Rotterdam Road Depot in Lowestoft, headquarters HQ for Waveney Norse led by Ian Gregory, general manager and Stephen Ardley, portfolio holder for Waveney District Council.
The Bombles have been active in Beccles for over three years, originally starting with Daniel Topping and Nicholas Ball who needed volunteer hours for their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, overseen by councillors Caroline Topping and Hugh Taylor.
Once the boys had finished, the councillors formed a more formal group which has been going ever since, joined by members of the public.
Beccles Bombles meet at 3pm every Tuesday. Details can be found at www.beccles.info/towncouncil.
