Day boat stolen from Gillingham and then set alight in Beccles

A DAY boat was stolen from a yard in Gillingham, before it was crashed and then set on fire in Beccles.
It was taken sometime after 6pm on Monday, before being sailed along the river were it collided with two small boats outside Beccles Sailing Club, causing cracked hulls to both.
The stolen boat was then set alight causing it to sink and causing fire damage to the wooden quayside. A wooden toilet building was also broken into.
Anyone with any information or who saw anything suspicious in the area between 6pm on Monday and around 10am Tuesday should call PC 1567 Alder at Suffolk Police on 101.
