DIESEL was stolen from a lorry at Flixton, near Bungay, this week.

Around 200 litres was taken from the tank of a lorry parked at the B1062 between 6pm on Tuesday and 6am on Wednesday.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area or anyone with information about who stole the fuel is asked to call PC 1567 Alder on 101.

THE Beccles carnival queen's float has been smashed to smithereens by vandals, just days before an important engagement.

Jenny Williams is due to represent the town at Lowestoft Carnival on Sunday, but her attendance was thrown into doubt after the float, which was being held at Beccles Quay, was discovered in pieces last Friday evening following an act of vandalism suspected to have been motivated by theft of the cast-iron panels on the gazebo.
