More than 2,400 members of staff at the James Paget University Hospital have now had their flu jabs, as part of a campaign to vaccinate as many as possible.

At the start of October, the hospital launched a campaign to give flue jabs to as many front-line staff members as possible, which has now seen around 68pc of staff take part.

On Wednesday, December 20, the hospital held a special event to recognise those that had signed up, with chief executive Christine Allen make presentations to staff members.

Kirsty Cater, from the maternity team, was named flu champion, for ensuring every member of her team that could have the jabs, did.

Midwife Jodie Yerrell collected the award on behalf of the department.

There was also a trophy for the top ward - the Emergency Assessment and Discharge Unit - with Tracey Palmer ensuring her entire team signed up and got their jabs.
