Two men charged with burglary after copper pipe theft at former hospital

Two men have been charged with burglary following a suspected copper pipe theft 
at the former Lowestoft Hospital.

During a routine patrol on Wednesday, September 26, plain clothes officers spotted a man entering the disused building in Tennyson Road and leaving with what is believed to have been copper pipes.

A short time later two men were arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre in Norfolk for questioning.

Paul Tarrant, 56, of Northgate, Lowestoft, was charged with burglary and bailed to appear before Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, October 24.

Bruno De Gamma, 34, also of Northgate, Lowestoft, was charged with burglary. He was remanded to appear before Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, September 27, where he was given a six week prison sentence suspended for 12 months.
