Man charged with drink driving after crashing into traffic lights in Hellesdon

A man has been charged with drink driving after crashing into a set of traffic lights in Hellesdon.

Police were called to Woodcock Road at 12.45am on Saturday following reports a BMW had crashed into the traffic lights.

The driver had fled the scene and there was debris in the road.

Police later arrested a man on Angel Road in connection with the incident.

Stuart Bryant, 41, of Rigbourne Hill in Beccles, was then charged with driving with excess alcohol and was bailed to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on August 29.
