A man has been charged with intent to supply crack-cocaine and heroin following a successful stop-and-search by a specialised drugs team.

Steven Parkinson, 38, of Commercial Road, in Lowestoft, has been charged on two counts; possession with intent to supply crack-cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin.

On Thursday, February 1, Suffolk Constabulary’s Scorpion Team arrested Parkinson in Lowestoft after a “positive use of stop search”.

Parkinson appeared in court the following day where he was released on bail.

He will appear before Ipswich Crown Court on March 2.

The Scorpion Team is a specialised group of highly-skilled and experienced public order officers with training in searches, surveillance and drugs identification.

Since its formation in 2015 the team has been prioritising a mass crackdown on drugs trafficking, as well as working to combat child sex offences, deny criminal used of the roads and make prisons safer places.
