New record set as more than 800 runners take part in Adnams 10k race

The annual Adnams 10k race took place in Southwold at the weekend – blessed with late autumn sunshine.

More than 800 runners took part in the event on Sunday, November 26, which raises money for charity.

This year’s overall winner was Andrew Rooke from the Framlingham Flyers who set a new course record of 32:05.

Dominic Oliver, from the City of Norwich Athletics Club, who has won the race for the last three years, had to settle for second with Ipswich Jaffa Running Club’s Robert Chenery third. Colleen Nicole Mukuya from GYDAC and Dunerunner was the top woman with Cat Cummings, Wymondham Athletics Club, and Rosie Horsfield, Woodbridge Shufflers Running Club second and third.

A beer station was also on hand as well as the traditional water station for runners on their third lap.

Adnams head of corporate affairs Emma Hibbert said: “It was a beautiful day. A big thank you to all the volunteers without whom the race would not take place.”
