Weather forecasters are predicting poor weather conditions brought on by the Beast from the East will continue into the weekend.

The Met Office have issued yellow weather warnings for “heavy snow and wind” in East Anglia every day this week, with the worst of the weather scheduled to hit today (February 27) and Wednesday, February 28.

Adam Dury from Norwich-based forecaster Weatherquest said: “Norfolk will see a fair amount of snow overnight, which will continue overnight into Wednesday.

“There’s some uncertainty around the amount of snow we’ll see over the rest of the week. We’ve got cold air on top of us with south easterly winds and moist air pushing in. Where the cold air and moisture meet, that’s where there will be snow.”

They added: “There’s a definite risk of frontal snow on Thursday and Friday afternoon, this means that if the snow does make it this far north, unlike today where it has been patchy across the region, everywhere will see an inch or two.”

Temperatures are set to remain around 0C for the rest of the week, dropping to -4C at night.

This will begin to pick up slightly over Saturday and Sunday with maximum temperatures of 2 or 3C. Next week will see the risk of snow reduced, with temperatures still below average for this time of year, but rising to between 6 and 8C.
