A charity Christmas card has been released to help raise money for one of Beccles most iconic buildings.

The Friends of St Michael’s Church will be selling the cards in packs if five to raise money for the preservation of the church.

Donations secretary David Gregson said: “We are pleased to announce the availability of this year’s Christmas cards, packs of which are now ready for purchase at the coffee mornings held every Friday in the church.

“The cards are in packs of five at a cost of £2.50 per pack, and profits will be added to the Friends’ fund for preserving the fabric and the beauty of the church.”

The artwork for the card comes courtesy of esteemed local artist Melanie Dodd who produced an exquisite winter scene of a snow-covered Beccles from the banks of the River Waveney.

Mr Gregson added: “Last year’s cards were sold out, so the Friends have printed extra copies this year and thus recommend early purchase.”
