A Suffolk brewer is raising a glass after securing a deal to sell its beers in Canada.

The Société des Alcools du Québec (Liquor Board for Quebec) has agreed to stock five of the Bungay company’s beers from this summer.

The export deal includes Suffolk Gold, India Pale Ale and Ruby Red Ale as seasonal offerings, while Cream Stout and gluten-free beer G-Free will be permanent listings.

This latest exporting success follows a long line of deals with countries around the world – with the brewer now generating 50% of its overall sales from exports.

Steve Magnall, chief executive at St Peter’s Brewery, said: “Securing these contracts takes time and patience, but we have a dedicated team at St Peter’s that builds up strong relationships overseas to ensure our export sales continue to grow.”

He added: “We are now very excited to see what the Canadian market thinks of our hand-crafted range of beers.”
