A store security officer has been assaulted in Bungay.

The man, who works at Rainbow, in Hillside Road East, suffered a fractured wrist after trying to stop a man suspected of shoplifting from the petrol station at about 6.45pm on Tuesday, April 24.

A 45-year-old has been arrested and bailed until June 6 and Suffolk Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC 1567 Alder on 101.
