A driver was in hospital with life-threatening injuries this morning following a crash near Haddiscoe last night.

A woman from the South Norfolk area is in a serious condition in hospital after her car hit a tree at around 9.30pm last night on Thorpe Road near Haddiscoe.

The accident happened close to the junction with Crab Apple Lane when the Nissan Micra being driven by the 25 year old woman left the road.

Norfolk Accident Rescue Service (NARS) was called to the scene along with ambulance crews, police and fire services. Two fire crews from Gorleston and Loddon cut the woman out of the car.

Medics stabilised the woman’s condition and she was taken by ambulance to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston where her condition is described as “serious”..
