Brandon Town 0, Bungay Town 0

Weather and other postponements meant Bungay took to the field on Saturday for the first time since November 12 – but they were unable to find a goal at Brandon.

They were the better side for much of the game, but passed up several clear-cut chances to win the game and Brandon had their moments, which meant keeper Brandon Ling had to be on good form.

The Black Dogs started well and after only six minutes the home keeper made a fine reflex save to keep out a close range shot from Alex Shreeve from a cross by Jackson Williams.

Brandon put a 30-yard free-kick wide before Shreeve set up Charlie McAra for a fierce shot the keeper was again equal to.

In the 35th minute new signing Tom Leuenberger, who had an impressive debut, put a far post header just wide.

At the other end a timely tackle by James Wightman prevented a Brandon forward closing in on goal.

Early in the second half Brandon netted but it was ruled out for offside.

Bungay saw an effort headed off the line before Ling made a good save to keep out a shot from two yards, and soon after the Bungay defence blocked a free-kick inside the area.

The Black Dogs best chance came in the 70th minute as good work down the left by Liam Williams and Kye Williams set up Shreeve but the keeper made a reflex block to keep the effort out.

In the 80th minute substitute River Crowson’s cross found Liam Williams unmarked but he volleyed the golden chance over from 10 yards.

With five minutes left another chance fell to leading scorer Shreeve but he pulled his shot just wide of the far post.
