Turner turns on the style at Beccles Golf Club

PUBLISHED: 05:11 29 December 2017

Archant

Benjamin Turner produced a fine display of ball striking to win the Beccles Qualifier by four points.

In the process he reduced the gap to the Winter Eclectic League leader Chris Collison by a further shot, with a fine birdie into the wind on the tricky 15th, to tie the gross lead on 62, though still two points behind the net mark of 53.

Collison came in second with 35 points with Nick Hope returning to competitive action to claim third, three further shots back.

A jovial field played the game in great Christmas spirit, with President Pat Gill’s side games always fiercely contested and captain David Trunks entertaining his playing partners with his unique brand of golf psychology.

Beccles Golf Club has announced new Ladies’ memberships are available at £100, with junior memberships at £50 and any new full member paying £150. Find out more at www.facebook.com/becclesgolfclub
