Langley School and Harleston Magpies have built on their close links by forming an association to promote the development of hockey within the school and the club by way of coaching and the sharing of facilities.
Magpies offer outstanding opportunities to further develop the skills of young hockey players at the school and recently four students, Victoria Findlay, Toby Price, Anna Tighe and Tom Yallop, took advantage of this coaching to progress in England Hockey’s Single System development programme.
These students competed against 60 of the most talented youngsters within their age groups throughout the East of England over two weekends in September with Price progressing to the next stage by being selected for the Saxon Tigers team to compete in the Under 18 Futures Cup at Cannock from October 30 to November 2.
Langley School headmaster, Dominic Findlay commented: “We are delighted to have gone into partnership with the Magpies especially at a time when we have some very talented students who are now being offered great opportunities to further develop their skills.”
Murray Graham, chairman of Harleston Magpies, added: “We are very pleased to further our links with Langley School and we look forward to exciting times ahead for both club and school.”
