The musical talents of Lowestoft’s young people were celebrated in the Hatfield Idol competition.

Run over three consecutive weeks including heats and a grand final, the event raised £271.66 on the final night on Saturday, 7th April, which will be donated to Cohen’s Wish for Wheels.

The singers were judged by Danny Steel and Shelly Robbins, with Aaron Bolton the host for the evening.

The winner was 15-year-old Perry Cooke who was a contestant on will.i.am’s team in The Voice Kids, with joint second place going to Issac Phillips, 13, and Alisha Giles, 16, and Emma Seamarks, 22, and Jessica Clifton, 14, finishing third.

A spokesman said: “We had 10 contestants in the final, the talent was outstanding and it was a very hard decision on our winners.”

The prize for first place was £250 cash, a gig at The Hatfield Hotel, and a recording session, with second place receiving £100 in cash and a recording session, and third place getting £50 cash.
