A fireworks display, live music, parties and even a contest rewarding the children who make the best homemade crown are just some of the activities planned as part of an "unforgettable" weekend.

Fun for all the family is in store with events aplenty being held across Beccles, Bungay, Loddon and Chedgrave to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

The Big Lunch will take centre stage at Beccles Quay between 11am and 4pm on Sunday, May 7.

Organised by Beccles Town Council, in association with the BBTA and volunteers, a spokesman said: "All welcome to celebrate with us at this free family event."

King Charles' Coronation Weekend in Bungay, starts at 10am on Saturday, May 6 with the Town Crier announcing the Coronation events for the weekend.

During the morning, The Fisher Theatre and the Royal British Legion on Priory Lane will live stream the Coronation ceremony and processions, with refreshments and a tea party being held respectively.

Events move to the Castle Bailey in the evening with entertainment from the Sole Bay Jazz Band, an outdoor bar, and a fireworks display from the Castle at 8.30pm.

On Sunday, May 7, Bungay Town Trust welcomes everyone to a Garden Party in Nethergate Street, Bungay, which runs from 2pm to 5pm.

The Sole Bay Jazz Band will entertain, with a glass of fizz on arrival and cream teas included in the ticket price of £10 which need to be bought in advance by contacting bungaygardenparty@gmail.com

Volunteering will be celebrated between noon and 3pm at Falcon Meadow on Monday, May 8, with locals urged to come along, bring a picnic and meet volunteer groups from the town.

Loddon Parish Council is encouraging locals to "get ready for an unforgettable community event."

A day filled with live music and exciting activities for all ages will see "the spectacular Loddon and Chedgrave Coronation Celebration" taking centre stage from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday, May 7.
