An 11-year-old boy is "petrified" to leave his house after getting beaten up on his way home from school.
The pupil at Bungay Primary School was attacked on Monday (January 22) just metres from his home on his daily walk.
His step-mother said she believes the attacker was a Bungay High School student as witnesses saw the attacker wearing the school uniform, a black blazer and trousers.
She said: "I just want to know who did it so that they can be appropriately dealt with by the police, and so they cannot do this to another child.
"He is petrified to leave the house and go to school now, and to think that he has to go to high school in September worries me a lot.
"It is just so upsetting.
"I hope that by speaking out I can warn other parents of the dangers and to help keep their children safe in our community."
Suffolk police are aware of the incident in Jubilee Road and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesman said: "Police have received a report of an assault occurring in Jubilee Road, Bungay, at around 3.35pm on Monday 22 January.
"A schoolboy was punched in the face by another boy, causing him to sustain a bloody nose and a swollen lip.
"Officers have been making enquiries into the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact the Lowestoft Response Investigation Team on 101, quoting reference: 4368/24.
"No arrests at present."
The step-mother added that both Bungay High School and Bungay Primary School have been made aware of the attack.
