A man was found unconscious on a roundabout following reports of an assault.
The man, in his 50s, was discovered at the junction of the A143 and Broad Street in Bungay shortly before 11.30pm on Tuesday.
He was found with a serious head wound and taken to hospital by ambulance. He has since been discharged.
It followed a report that a man was assaulted on a footbridge off the A143 in Ditchingham sometime between 9.30pm and 11.30pm the same evening.
Police are appealing for witnesses and asking anyone with dashcam footage to come forward, quoting crime reference 37/19583/24.
