A special event to celebrate a centenary milestone has been hailed a success.

Marking 100 years of the Labour Party organisation in Lowestoft and Waveney, the Waveney constituency Labour Party celebrated this historic event on Saturday, October 6 at the Ole Frank public house in Gresham Avenue, Oulton Broad.

An exhibition was held to mark the occasion, with a historical presentation of the Labour Party over the last 100 years displayed – with a particular emphasis on the election and representation in Parliament of Edward Evans and Bob Blizzard.

Artefacts on display included photographs and documents covering those 100 years including the book by Don Mathew ‘From Two Boys and a Dog to Political Power.’

Mr Mathew attended the celebration and signed copies of his book. The Labour MP for Ipswich, Sandy Martin, also attended the event. The celebration concluded with an evening of entertainment, which was provided by the John Ward duo.
