A 16-year-old boy escaped with a minor cut to his stomach after being attacked in Loddon on Saturday evening by a man with a sharp-edged instrument.
The teenager was walking along Leman Grove at around 9.30pm towards the footpath in front of Hobart High School when a man asked him for a cigarette. When he declined the man assaulted him and the victim ran off.
The attacker is described as about 18 years old, 6ft, with short spiked hair and stubble. He was wearing a black hooded top with a Lonsdale logo and dark Nike tracksuit bottoms with a white stripe down the side, which were tucked into his socks.
