CALLS for help by users of Beccles skatepark have been answered with a consultation event being held to get an insight into what facilities young people would like to see on offer.
Waveney District Council, in conjunction with Beccles Town Council, Suffolk Constabulary and EAST (Extreme Adrenalin Sports Together), the user group behind the skatepark, at Normanston Park, in Lowestoft, is calling on the people of Beccles to offer their views on the town's current skatepark and what they would like to see from any future facility.
The consultation will be held on Wednesday, April 7, at the skatepark in Beccles from 1pm to 3pm. The partners are keen to hear from children and young people, skateboarders, BMXers, in-line skaters, sport clubs and local residents.
Beccles town councillor, Brian Taylor said: “The young people of Beccles have called for improved facilities and we would like to understand their needs and aspirations, so that we can look at assisting them in achieving their aims.”
Ash Lever of EAST added: “We have learnt about delivering a successful project through our work on the skatepark in North Lowestoft. EAST was instrumental in delivering Lowestoft's facility and we hope that the users in Beccles come along and share their thoughts, so we can help them in planning a way forward for Beccles skatepark.”
