A LITTLE bit of Southwold has come to a Suffolk primary school in the shape of a boat and beach huts for children's play.
Youngsters at Brampton Primary School, near Beccles, have been getting to grips with their new play area and equipment following a cash boost.
The play area was officially unveiled yesterday onTuesday by Southwold pier owners Stephen and Antonia Bournes who donated about 2,500 in coins from a fountain on the pier. The small change was counted by the children and staff of the school. The school also used 1,000 which they won last year through our sister paper the EDP's Get Equipped competition to help fund the project.
Headteacher Valerie Rutterford said: “The school is on Southwold Road and now we have our own mini Southwold with a boat and beach huts at the front. We are absolutely delighted. This gives the children lots of opportunity for creative play.”
