A primary school in a Suffolk village has filed plans to build a nursery with room for 30 youngsters.

Holton St Peter Community Primary School, near Halesworth, has filed plans outlining the construction of a single-storey standalone block.

The block will be positioned on the existing playing field, meaning the sports pitch and rounders pitch will be relocated north of the new block if approved.

The block would be separate from the existing school site as it will be a nursery facility.

At the time of writing the school has 105 children from ages 3-11 years old on its books.

In 2021 the school was rated ‘Good’ in its most recent Ofsted report.

The headteacher of the primary school, Christine Starkl, was approached to comment on the school's plans, however declined to comment.
