Bungay’s Christmas Street market is set to return with organisers delighted to welcome visitors to the town.

Following the success of the inaugural Food and Drink Market in Bungay in October, Bungay’s regular Christmas Street Market will be back, on Sunday December 4, with stalls up and down Earsham Street in Bungay.

There are some returning favourites, including wreath sellers, and some new ones such as Doggy Deli, which was a hit at the Food and Drink Fair.

Other gift stalls include Waveney Candles, Hotch Potch Jewellery, Oclay Ceramics, and Castle Hills’ sheepskin mitts, among others.

And there will be plenty of food and drink too – from designer gins to Chet Valley wines and locally brewed beer along with the famous Hog Roast, barbeque from Maisebrooke Farm and, making a return this year after their success at last year’s Christmas Market, the delicious Yorky Wraps.

Street market organiser, Didy Ward, said: “We have lots of lovely prizes donated by local businesses and some of the Street Market stallholders for the raffle – people have been so generous, and it is all for such a good cause.”

Park Radio will be playing at the Butter Cross all day, providing music and entertainment, and there will be a Christmas Raffle that BEBA is running to raise funds for the Waveney Foodbank.

Mrs Ward, who chairs BEBA, the Bungay Events and Business Association, said: “We are so excited for the Christmas Market – it is completely sold out.

“We had far more applications than we have spaces for so sadly we couldn’t offer a pitch to everyone who applied.

“But we have a good balance of stalls with something for everyone and we expect lots and lots of visitors.”

There is additional parking at the Golf Club car park at Outney Common.

The Christmas Street Market runs from 9am to 4pm.

The draw for the Christmas Raffle will take place at 3pm on the Butter Cross, with Town Reeve, Olly Barnes and Park Radio announcing the winners of the baskets of Bungay goodies.
