An annual Christmas carol singing event with a unique audience returns to a Norfolk farm this weekend.

Rebecca Mayhew, of Old Hall Farm in Woodton, takes pride in her cows -only feeding them "grass rather than grain" - and says that her animals love music.

The farm, near Bungay, will host their Christmas market this weekend and are set to welcome guests back once more.

Mrs Mayhew said: “It is well known that cows love music, and they have warmly appreciated guests singing to them in the past.

"My cows are incredibly vain, they are Jersey goddesses, they love an audience, and are very friendly.

"It is part of our Christmas market at the farm shop this Saturday and Sunday.

"At 5pm, in the festive spirit, we will go and share some Christmas songs with them.

This year's Christmas market will feature a range of stalls selling local produce.

Mrs Mayhew said: “People will have a choice of 15 stalls to shop from locally sourced produce on sale, there is also a farm shop, butchery, restaurant and delicatessen on site.

“Visitors can come and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere and even place their Christmas orders from our butchers.

“We have a lovely selection of artists, crafters and food and drink retailers on site on both days, ranging from Tindalls Brewery, Candi’s Chutney, Home Farm Gin, Norfolk Wildlife Trust and more.

“We will be offering cheese and wine tasting, hamper ordering service with free wrapping for all orders placed before December 12, and of course, carols with the cows at 5pm on both days.

“It will be nice to have as many people as possible here to enjoy the lovely warm festive atmosphere and help contribute to the vibes.”
