The Beccles and District Lions have donated a shed to a grieving family in need of storage space at their home in the town.

After considering the situation and speaking with Beccles Helping Hands, both organisations decided they wanted to help.

With further support and assistance from Trevor Wisener, a past Lion, and Davey Sheds, a shed was provided.

Helping Hands vice chairman, Nigel Bartram said: “When we heard about the situation this family found themselves in we had no hesitation in offering what help we could and thanks to all involved we have been able to offer a very positive outcome to the family.”

Lion Chris Eglington, Beccles and District Lions Club president said: “Once we heard of the family’s dilemma we all felt the request of a storage shed was in the long term the best way forward.

"I would like to thank Beccles Helping Hands for their generous response.

"A special thank you to Steve from Davey Sheds Ltd, Ellough Road, and to Trevor Wisener for all the hard work they have both done to ensure the shed was delivered and erected on time.”
