A host of comedy stars have been announced for one of the region's biggest summer festivals.

The organisers of the Latitude Festival in Suffolk have announced a raft of top comedians will be cracking jokes in July.

Ed Gamble, Romesh Ranganathan, Bridget Christie and Sara Pascoe are among the names that will perform at the Comedy Arena at Henham Park from July 20 to July 23.Beccles & Bungay Journal: Fans giggling away in hysterics at the Comedy Tent at LatitudeFans giggling away in hysterics at the Comedy Tent at Latitude (Image: Nick Butcher)

They will be playing to up to 2,000 people.

James, Men I Trust, Confidence Man, Mimi Webb and Yard Act are among many performers who have also been announced as additional music acts.

They are set to join Pulp, Paolo Nutini, George Ezra and The Kooks who are the main music headliners which festival-goers are excited for.

Straight off the back of a sell-out tour in 2022, Romesh Ranganathan is to appear as the Sunday night comedy headliner.

He said: "I thought I would never do a festival gig again, but the opportunity to play Latitude as a comedian and hip hop party host, plus a substantial fee have changed my mind."

Ed Gamble previously MCed Latitude’s tiny Comedy Shed back in 2012 – where the acts he introduced included James Acaster.

He said was "delighted to return" for "an even better time".

To celebrate their 40th anniversary James will be performing with an orchestra on the Sunday lunchtime.

Actor-turned-singer-songwriter Kiefer Sutherland will also make a special appearance, festival organisers have said.

Mercury Prize nominee Yard Act said: "It's an honour to be headlining the second stage at Latitude, and the best news is we don't clash with Pulp."

Also appearing is actor and comedian Rosie Holt, joke machines Ed Bryne and Russell Kane, Tatty Macleod, and TikTok star Daniel Foxx.
