This week, roadworks will be disrupting journeys across Suffolk once more.

Here are seven closures drivers will need to plan for in the coming days...

A14, Stowmarket

The lane closures near Stowmarket on the A14 will remain in place this week, with electric signs on the road showing April 18 as the end date.

One lane is closed in both directions, with the work causing long delays on the major road.

A12, Woodbridge

National Highways has been carrying out drainage improvement works on the A12 at Bredfield, near Woodbridge, since the start of March.

Temporary speed limits are in place, with lane closures also implemented until April 30.

Crown Street and St Matthews Street, Ipswich

Crown Street and St Matthews Street in Ipswich will be closed between 7pm on Wednesday and 5am on Thursday while Suffolk County Council carry out the emergency works.

A five-mile diversion route will be in place and is expected to take about 15 minutes to complete. 

Bury Road, Bury St Edmunds

Bury Road will be closed from Westley Lane to Little Saxham from 8.30am on Monday.

The closure will be in place each day until May 2 as Suffolk County Council carries out the latest set of work on the road.

Bures Road, Sudbury

On April 7, the Annual Sudbury Fun Run will take place throughout Sudbury and Great Cornard.

Closures will take place until 10.30am and roads impacted include: Bures Road, Blackhouse Lane, Wells Hall Road, Canhams Road, Shawlands Avenue, the A131 and more.

A146, Beccles

An emergency road closure will be in place on the A146 between Beccles and Worlingham on April 6.

It will be closed between 7.30pm and 10pm as Suffolk County Council completes work in the area.

 

Foxhall Road, Ipswich

Traffic lights will be installed in Foxhall Road, near to Britannia Road and Dover Road, as part of work being carried out by CityFibre. 

According to one.network, the temporary lights will be in place between April 3 and April 10.

Nearby Freehold Road will also be closed between April 11 and April 21.
