Bestselling authors and illustrators will gather in a market town this month for the second outing of a festival promising to be "bigger and better than ever".

The Dog-Eared Children's Book Festival takes place over the weekend of June 24 and 25 at the Fisher Theatre in Bungay.

Organisers, who celebrated a successful inaugural event last year, are encouraging children and adults to "arrive curious, leave inspired".

This year's speakers include Thomas Taylor, author of the bestselling 'Malamander' series, and illustrator Matt Robertson who will share fun facts about the natural world.

Author Rashmi Sirdeshpande and illustrator Rikin Parekh will entertain with a story of a cautious cow, while Elys Dolan will tell zany tales of superhero snails and evil weasels.

Bungay's own Toto will be launching his debut book, 'The Frog's Kiss', with James Mayhew.

Those who want to get creative will have the opportunity to work alongside Kate Read to create illustrations using collage or invent comic book characters with Dave Shelton.

Aspiring authors can also learn more about children's book publishing by listening to industry experts.

A panel of publishers, authors and illustrators will assemble to share their experiences, explain how publishing works and discuss new trends in the industry.

The Norfolk Children's Book Centre, meanwhile, will run a pop-up bookshop.
