A couple who have spent their careers in the world of auctioning are fulfilling "their dream" of opening their own auction room and bringing the tradition back to Beccles.

Beverley Clift and her husband David Clift met at Durrants Auction Rooms, which closed in January after 128 years in the town, four years ago.

Having married last summer the pair are excited to have opened an auction room, Beccles Auctions LTD, of their own and "bring auctions back to Beccles".

Mrs Clift, 52, who worked at the Durrants Auction Rooms for over 12 years, said: "We are really excited to open up.

"After the Durrants Auction Rooms closed we saw a gap in the market so we thought it would be a good idea to get up and running and keep the tradition in the town alive.

"We both love auctioning so much so we are really excited to see how it goes and if people take to it.

"There is nothing more exciting than the buzz of an auction."

The auctions are hosted online but the couple are keen for people to come and see them at their base at Unit 9B, Ellough Industrial Estate, Beccles.

Mr Clift, 59, who is particularly interested in military items, said: "We are really keen for people to drop in, show their faces, but if they have anything they wish to sell, then please come along with their items.

"Our auctions go live for two weeks, our first one went live last weekend, and we are already seeking items to sell for the next one."
