The owners of a Broads boatyard with quirky houseboats and glamping hideaways are "excited" to appear on a Channel 4 TV series.

Hipperson's Boatyard in Beccles is set to be the focus of the first episode of the new series of My Floating Home, airing on More4 on Thursday, July 27.

Mary Sparrow and her husband Simon, who have run the River Waveney firm for nine years, are "excited but slightly nervous" ahead of featuring on television.

"It is a bit nerve-racking because we have not seen what they have done yet.

"The show focuses on one of our floating pods, the Wild Cat Island.

"But despite the nerves at how silly we may be portrayed, we are excited for people to see our projects and how hard we have worked.

"The crew and producers were really lovely so hopefully it is a good representation of our business," Mrs Sparrow said.

The film crews visited the Beccles site last year and Mrs Sparrow says her son Nate is "fizzing with excitement" ahead of appearing on television.
