The organiser of a country fair has announced that £18,000 was raised from the day for good causes.

Sotterley Country Fair saw over 4,000 people attend the charity event.

The fair on Saturday, June 25 at Sotterley Hall, near Beccles, featured more than 80 local craft stalls, a large collection of vintage cars, tractors and stationary engines, main ring displays and have a go archery and clay shooting.

Orgainser Rachel Bunn has revealed the fair raised over £18,000 with £10,000 going to the nominated charities including Chedgrave Oxygen Therapy Centre, the Sandra Chapman Centre at the James Paget University Hospital and Halesworth-based Peartree Centre.

It now means the fair has raised more than £115,000 for good causes since its formation.

The event started in 2015 after the Barne family of Sotterley offered to support a fundraising event in memory of Sally Bunn, the mother of organiser Miss Bunn.

The event has grown every year and has now raised over £115,000 for local charities.

Miss Bunn said: "The show has family and charity at its heart and every year we aim to ensure a day of fun and the making memories, something both my late parents felt was important."

Last year the show saw more than 4,000 visitors attending and more than £24,000 was raised for the nominated charities.

The 2022 event also honoured the husband of Sally Bunn, Monty Bunn, who passed away earlier in that year.

On its website the Sotterley Estate says "Supported by the combination of regenerative farming methods and carefully managed mixed woodland, Sotterley Estate has joined the green revolution by working to restore nature, rebuild ecological systems and imagining a better future for the countryside, reaping long-term benefits for our community and planet."
