A town's lido has announced it is going to close for two weeks to fix a leak.

Beccles Lido, which stays open in the winter, has yet to confirm the dates it will close to repair the leak.

News of the leak was revealed in an update from the lido, which also said it had had a good year so far.

A statement said: "The weather has been quite mixed this year, and in no way lived up to last year’s eight-week heatwave.

"Despite the weather, we have had a good season, with many more members joining this year, and a greater availability of fun and inflatable sessions for families.

"This is just as well, as we have faced some very large expenses this season thanks to the energy crisis, hikes in chlorine prices and the discovery of a leak.

"Our main project this winter will be to repair the leak we have discovered in the main pool.

"This is no simple task and will require us to close for two weeks and complete a lot of digging.

"Fixing this leak will allow us to save valuable money on water, chlorine, and gas – plus help us ensure the water temperature stays stable."
