The benefits of Scottish country dancing are being celebrated by a club dedicated to promoting its virtues across the Waveney Valley and beyond.

Waveney Valley Scottish Dance Club started in January with the aim of introducing Scottish country dancing to people living in the towns and villages of the Waveney Valley.

To promote the activity and encourage people to join the club, it has arranged for free Scottish country dance taster sessions to be held on Saturday, September 23 at Bungay Community Centre.

There will be two taster session times to choose from, 10am to 11am and 11.30am to 12.30pm.

The taster sessions will also help celebrate the first ever European Folk Day and the club says joining the group is a great way of making friends and feeling fitter.

Jo Poole, chair of the club, said: "Our current members include people living in Bungay, Beccles, Gorleston, Halesworth and Harleston.

"We're keen to broaden the geographical remit of club membership, especially in the rural parts of the Waveney Valley, hence the reason why these taster sessions have been organised.
