A man who stole a car from a doctors' surgery and drove it to his house in the same town has been jailed for 12 weeks.

Ronnie Bridges, 43, noticed a Mini Countryman with its keys in the ignition parked in the staff car park at Beccles Medical Centre on September 12 and took off in the vehicle.

Norwich Magistrates' Court heard he was seen on CCTV hanging around the car park before getting in the parked car and driving off.

A member of staff at the centre alerted the owner that her car had disappeared, she then called the police.
