With the Christmas period almost upon us and the plethora of events on offer almost overwhelming, it can be hard to choose what to go to to make the most of the season. 

We have rounded up some of the best festive afternoon teas on offer in Suffolk to make the choice a little easier. 

1. The Swan

Location: Southwold

Cost: £30pp

Featuring a collection of festive cocktails, this afternoon tea is set to be very popular. 

For an additional fee, diners can enjoy a sloe gin negroni or salted caramel espresso martini. 

The menu is yet to be finalised but the sample menu suggests that a Turkey croquette with sage and onion espuma and whipped goat’s cheese, honey and rosemary might be featured on the menu. 

Diners need to book at least 24 hours in advance.

2. Ravenwood Hall Hotel

Location: Rougham

Cost: £20

The cosy tearoom will be adorned with Christmas lights to make the experience magical for the diners. 

Available from Monday to Saturday from 3pm to 5pm, the festive menu will kick off on December 4 and will be available to enjoy until December 30.

Tickets must be pre-booked through the Ravenwood Hall Hotel website with the full price paid upon booking.

3. The Swan

Location: Lavenham

Cost: £27.50pp

The Lavenham Swan regularly updates its afternoon tea offering, including a recent collaboration with a Bake Off finalist. 

The tower of Christmassy treats features a chocolate orange snowman macaron and Rudolph mincemeat frangipane tart.

It will be available between November 27 and January 4.

4. Notcutts

Location: Woodbridge

Cost: unknown

Notcutts has teased a glimpse at its upcoming festive afternoon tea, but very little is known about what the foodie experience will include. 

The Notcutts store in Woodbridge has confirmed that it will be serving the Christmassy delight, and has promised more details soon.

5. The Angel Hotel

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Cost: £24pp

The Angel Hotel is back at it with another themed afternoon tea to delight Christmas fans.

Served every day throughout December (excluding December 24, 25 and 26), the festive menu will be accompanied by teas from around the world.

Choose between a roast Norfolk turkey sandwich and a brie and cranberry muffin, or indulge in the chocolate orange cake or brandy and hazelnut pavlova.
