Passengers using a community transport charity are "in love" with the organisation's new electric vehicle.
Bact is a volunteer-based organisation in that has bought a new hybrid plug-in Ford Kuga car following a successful bid to Suffolk County Council 's Innovation Fund.
Based in Bungay, it uses its own accessible vehicles and volunteer cars to transport people in the Waveney district of Suffolk and the south eastern area of south Norfolk who cannot readily use public transport or have no access to a car or live in a rural area.
The charity, which was established in 1997, says it is "excited" to add the Ford Kuga to its fleet as previously it only had wheelchair-accessible vehicles and minibuses.
Volunteers would often have to drive their own cars.
Manager, Debbie Blowers said “We are so excited to receive the new car as it opens new opportunities for volunteers to drive for us.
"Bact is struggling to meet the demand for its transport requests, and we compete for volunteers with many other organisations these days.
"We are hopeful that having a lovely new car will attract new volunteers.
"In addition, the car is cheaper to run than our traditional vehicles and better for the environment.”

The first volunteer to drive the new car was a recent recruit, district and county councillor for Bungay, Judy Cloke.
She said: "It is now a real pleasure to be able to help in another way.
"I have met many interesting people in my new role."
Mrs Cloke took Andy, a regular passenger of Bact to Clinks Care Farm, a popular destination for the charity's passengers.

Another passenger, Christine McHugh. She said: "My daughter and I were driven to James Paget Hospital in Bact's new car by their volunteer driver, Judy Cloke.
"It was a real treat to be taken in a brand-new car. It was beautiful, lovely, and comfortable.
"It was so smooth and quiet, almost as if it wasn't moving - but it was, as we got there in good time."
