Plans have been approved to demolish a former barn used as three holiday lets and build a new building in its place.

Documents say that Ronald Beattie and his wife Rosemary Beattie, who own the building in Chedgrave, near Loddon, are having booking shortages and struggle to fill the three holiday lets.

As a result, they intend to replace the structure with a "modern build" which will just be a one holiday let, compared to three, which they hope will get more all year around bookings.

It is hoped that the new building will be a "more desirable holiday let", though a "similar style" in appearance to the existing one.

Plans also add that the "condition of the existing building is not viable to repair" and would still be of "poor standard in terms of insulation".

The owners have three years to start the work before the plans become invalid.
