A business owner is "happy to be going out on a high" having run a clothes shop in a market town for more than 30 years.

Simone Wootton, 66, is closing Cloves Dress Agency in Beccles and is looking to enjoy her retirement.

She had been working at Lloyds Bank in the town when the opportunity to join the team at Cloves arose, before eventually taking it on herself.

"I am so happy to be going out on a high, business has just been brilliant and I owe it to my customers and the people of Beccles for their support," she said.

"I have had a brilliant time working here, got to know so many people in the town and it has just been amazing."

She is looking forward to "live spontaneously" and doing what "she would like" when the shop closes for the final time.

The first thing for the newly retired business owner on the agenda is a trip to the other side of the world to meet her sister.

"My sister is living in Australia and soon I will be flying out to stay with her," she said.

"She is currently living in a shack 50 miles north of Sydney on the coast.

"It has been a while since I last went out and I cannot wait to jet off and spend two months away and reunite with her too."

Its owner said: "We have a big sale on at the moment, so please come along and see if you can find yourself a bargain before we close up.

"I will really miss my lovely customers and the people of Beccles, it really has been a lovely era," she said.

The building which the shop occupies, 11 Smallgate in Beccles, is currently on the market listed at £195,000 and is being sold by Durrants.
