One of east Suffolk's newest takeaways has opened and had a "crazy" first day of service.

Benzo's Burgers opened its doors for the first time on Thursday for takeaway and delivery within a four-mile radius of the Halesworth Thoroughfare.

The business announced in December that it would be moving into a Halesworth location and serving dirty burgers, loaded fries and indulgent desserts.

"Tonight was crazy - thanks to you all for your patience!" owner Benjamin Helmer posted on Facebook.

"We will be running smoother tomorrow."

The takeaway is operating out of the Farmhouse Bakery site at 56 Thoroughfare during the evenings when the bakery isn't open.

Not only is the delivery area set to expand to an eight-mile radius of the shop once the company has found its feet, but the menu too.

Benzo's Burgers has issued a post on its social media accounts to say that they will be offering vegan, gluten and dairy-free options in a few weeks.

The takeaway is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 4.30pm, with the full list of opening times and menu on the Benzo's Burgers website.
