The owner of a business which has been named one of the best in the UK say they are "so proud".

Lynn and Steve Tricker have run Truly Traceable Venison and Game Pies from their home, in Halesworth, since 2014.

On Thursday evening, the couple saw their business, in particular their pies, named the best game value added product in the country at a ceremony held on the River Thames in London.

"It was absolutely fantastic," said Lynn.

"We are adding value to the game. We are adding value to that by taking it one stage further by turning it into pies and sausage rolls.

"It was our pies that won us the awards."

The accolade follows a rigorous nomination process that saw them send off a range of their pies to Scotland to be tried and tested by a former chef.

The husband and wife duo run the business entirely from their home, having converted their garage into a butchery.

Mrs Tricker added: "We were presented our award with Adam Henson from Countryfile. It was a really lovely evening.

"We are tiny - just a husband and wife from Halesworth. To get that far out of the whole of the UK, we are just so proud of our little business."

The Halesworth company, which has won the accolade for a second time, was one of three firms from Suffolk that saw success at the 2024 awards.

Lavenham Butchers won best game butcher, while Maisebrooke Farm Shop was named best small game retailer.

The couple said: "It was a good night for Suffolk. We were proud to be there flying the flag for the county.

"To win it once was fantastic, but to win it again was just amazing. We just feel like it is such an achievement for us."
