A market town is set to host a Soapbox Derby for the first time in its history as individuals and businesses battle for the title of the town's most craziest driver.
Part of Beccles will be transformed into the land of "wacky races" as participants will be building their own karts to race that must be powered solely by gravity.

So here is everything we know so far:
The grand race will take place on September 29 at 11am on Station Road, Beccles.
Individuals, businesses, and organisations are all welcome to enter the event with up to four members for a team. Only one can be the driver and must be aged 18 or above.
Entries cost £50 per team.
Spectators are welcome to stand on either side of the road to watch for free.
Teams will battle for the prizes of first, second and third place, with an additional prize for the best decorated kart.

The course will include a ramp and a serpentine curve, and teams will have two chances to get their best time.
No engines, motors or pedals are permitted.
It is being organised by Beccles Town Council.
A statement said: "Beccles is hosting its first ever Soapbox Derby and we are now asking for anyone who wishes to take part to get in touch and book their space."

Suggested team names will be scrutinised by organisers and any team members suspected of being under the influence of drugs/alcohol will not be permitted to take part and their team will be thrown out.
The first soapbox derby was held in 1934 and there is even an international organisation that promotes the wacky races.
