A folk duo is set to perform at a Beccles theatre.

Gilmore & Roberts, who have been nominated three times at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, will perform at the Canopy Theatre, Hungate Church, in Beccles on Saturday, September 28.

The duo, made up of Katriona Gilmore (vocals, fiddle, mandolin) and Jamie Roberts (vocals, guitar) met while studying at Leeds College of Music and released their debut album in 2008.

Since then, they have toured Canada and Europe, played some of the UK’s biggest acoustic festivals, and toured with folk rock legends Fairport Convention.

Their latest studio album "Documenting Snapshots" was released in 2023 and is their first since 2018.

Katriona said: "So much has changed since our last album.

"It feels like a different landscape altogether."

Jamie added: "The music industry is still feeling the fallout of the pandemic.

"On a more personal level we now have two young children, so making this record had to fit around our lives rather than the other way round."

The show starts at 7.30pm.
