Search the Public Notice PortalConcerns about traffic and drainage have been raised as plans for a major new housing development continue to progress.
Hopkins Homes had submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment scoping report for a development of up to 270 homes on land off Ringsfield Road and Primrose Lane in Beccles.
The proposal, which was previously unveiled during a public consultation, has increased slightly from the originally discussed figure of around 260 homes.
Now, Beccles Town Council has highlighted several concerns after considering the latest application.

Councillors raised questions about the amount of traffic that would be generated by the development, particularly the use of a single access point serving the estate.
Members also expressed concerns about the potential impact on the town's drainage infrastructure.
In comments submitted on the proposal, the council said concerns were raised regarding "the volume of traffic using the estate's single entrance".
Councillors also noted that they would like to see a detailed map showing where water from the new development would be directed.
The town council said it was awaiting submission of a full planning application before providing more detailed feedback.
The proposed development would include a mix of housing, with up to 30pc affordable homes, 5pc self-build plots and 40pc accessible and adaptable properties.

Plans also include public open space, sustainable drainage measures and a children's play area.
According to the scoping report, vehicle access to the site would be from London Road via Butterfly Drive, linking with the neighbouring Barsham Vale development.
A shared use cycle/pedestrian access point is proposed from Ringsfield Road to the west of the site boundary.
The Environmental Impact Assessment scoping report is an early stage in the planning process and is intended to identify the environmental issues that should be assessed before a formal planning application is submitted to East Suffolk Council.
